Introduce
Quartz glass sheets, also known as fused silica plates or quartz plates, are highly specialized materials made from high-purity silicon dioxide (SiO₂). These transparent and durable sheets are valued for their exceptional optical clarity, thermal resistance, and chemical stability. Due to their superior properties, quartz glass sheets are widely used across multiple industries, including semiconductors, optics, photonics, solar energy, metallurgy, and advanced laboratory applications.
Our quartz glass sheets are manufactured using top-grade raw materials such as natural crystal or synthetic silica, processed through precision melting and polishing techniques. The result is an ultra-flat, low-impurity, and bubble-free surface that meets the most stringent requirements of modern industrial processes.
Product Features
-
Extreme Thermal Resistance
Quartz glass sheets can withstand temperatures up to 1100°C in continuous use and even higher in short bursts. Their extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion (~5.5 × 10⁻⁷ /°C) ensures outstanding thermal shock resistance. -
High Optical Transparency
They offer excellent transparency in the UV, visible, and IR spectrum depending on the grade, with transmission rates exceeding 90% in most visible ranges. This makes them ideal for photolithography and laser applications. -
Chemical Durability
Quartz glass is inert to most acids, bases, and corrosive gases. This resistance is crucial for cleanroom environments and high-purity chemical processing. -
Mechanical Strength and Hardness
With a Mohs hardness of 6.5–7, quartz glass sheets offer good scratch resistance and structural integrity, even under demanding conditions. -
Electrical Insulation
Quartz is an excellent electrical insulator and is widely used in high-frequency and high-voltage applications due to its low dielectric constant and high resistivity.

Quartz Flange Manufacturing Process
1. Raw Material Inspection
High-purity fused quartz plates, tubes, or blanks are selected according to the product size, operating temperature, cleanliness requirements, and application conditions.
The raw material is inspected for dimensions, cracks, bubbles, scratches, and other visible defects.
2. Material Cutting
The quartz material is cut into a preliminary blank according to the product drawing. Additional material is reserved for subsequent precision machining.
3. Precision Machining
The outer diameter, inner bore, thickness, steps, and positioning structures are machined using professional quartz processing equipment.
Machining speed and pressure are carefully controlled to reduce chipping, microcracks, and internal stress.
4. Hole and Groove Processing
Bolt holes, locating holes, counterbores, sealing grooves, and O-ring grooves are processed according to the drawing.
For sealing applications, groove width, depth, hole spacing, and positional accuracy are carefully controlled.
5. Edge Grinding
Sharp edges and small chips are removed through grinding, chamfering, or edge rounding.
Proper edge finishing helps reduce stress concentration and lowers the risk of breakage during installation and operation.
6. Surface Finishing
Depending on the application, the quartz flange can be mechanically polished, fire-polished, or frosted.
Polishing improves surface smoothness and transparency, while frosting provides a matte surface.
7. Quartz Welding
When required, the quartz flange is welded to a quartz tube, quartz chamber, or other quartz component.
During welding, the temperature, alignment, concentricity, and welding area are carefully controlled to ensure a reliable connection.
8. Annealing
Welded or complex quartz components may be annealed to release residual internal stress.
Annealing helps reduce the risk of cracking during transportation, installation, and high-temperature use.
9. Cleaning and Drying
After machining, the quartz flange is thoroughly cleaned to remove quartz particles, dust, oil, and processing residues.
The product is then dried and protected in a clean environment.
10. Inspection and Packaging
Finished quartz flanges are inspected for:
- Outer and inner dimensions
- Thickness
- Hole diameter and position
- Groove dimensions
- Flatness
- Surface scratches
- Edge chipping
- Welding quality
- Assembly compatibility
After inspection, each product is packed with protective wrapping, cushioning materials, and shock-resistant packaging.
