How to identify pink sapphire and pink spinel?

Pink spinel is often mistaken for pink blue treasure, the biggest difference between the two is multicolor. Pink sapphires (corundum) are dichroic, with a spectroscope from different positions of the gem will show different shades of pink, and spinel does not, no matter from which direction the color does not change.

Purple sapphire can always show a rich purple pink, mysterious, noble and charming, but also the cherished things of women. It is mainly produced in Sri Lanka, but to a lesser extent in Thailand and Myanmar. A vanadium – and chromium-containing variant of sapphire with a beautiful purple, purple-red, or violet color, called purple sapphire.
